Hi peeps and I hope that you are all OK and having a nice week :)
Phew, what a looooong post title today – I think it’s a record for us here lol and it’s also a bit of a loooong post as well!!!
Hugest of thanks to everybody who joined in last week.
What a wonderful response and there were some gorgeous festive projects for sure.
So who was our winner?
Wooohoo hooooo, it’s Loopy Lou :)
Well done chick and if you e-mail me I’ll pass your details onto Tracy at Dies To Die For and hugest of thanks to her for her wonderful sponsorship xxx
And check out what Lou did peeps …..
… I LOVE it chick – what a clever sentiment :)x
Before we move on to other stuff I just had to share this with you ……
This was made for our challenge by Kristian and he is 4.5 years old.
I think it’s so lovely and well done to him for making such a great card. You can see it on his Mamma’s blog here and thank you Moni for sharing with us.
Just one more thing before we get to the cardy bit and this I just HAD to share.
We’ve only gone and made the top ten in our category here …..
I received an email last week from a nice lady called Fleur and this is what she said …
I wanted to pop you a quick email to let you know that we have just published The Most Wanted 100 Essential Blogs: Christmas Edition and we’re pleased to let you know that you and your blog, Papertake Weekly, was featured in the Best Craft blogs category.
Here at Most Wanted we created this list of the top 100 blogs in the UK, not only to showcase the best blogging talent out there, but also to help our readers out this Christmas. We’re incredibly passionate about supporting the UK blogging community and believe that blogs are a really great way for our users to find not only great deals but also really interesting Christmas ideas and information.
Acting as an amazing resource for gift ideas, experiences and decorative inspiration, blogs really highlight what’s out there this Christmas - from affordable recipe ideas and wine suggestions, to New Year fitness regimes and money-saving tips. This isn’t the only list we pull together either, we have successfully created The Most Wanted Fashion 100 for two consecutive years running.
The Most Wanted 100 Essential Blogs: Christmas Edition is an online list of the most influential blogs in the UK (within their categories) of the past six months. We have painstakingly scoured the web to find ten publishing leaders in each of the ten categories. The categories we looked at were:
Best Theatre Blogs
Best Food Blogs
Best Beauty Blogs
Best Wine Blogs
Best Travel Blogs
Best Home Décor Blogs
Best Craft Blogs
Best Money Saving Blogs
Best TV Blogs
Best Health and Fitness Blogs
Well you could have blown me down with a feather, and given the extra lardage I have put on of late, that would have been no mean feat!!!! So wooohooo and well done to us I say and of course hugest of thanks to all you lovely Papertakers cos if you weren't here then neither would we be. You can read all about it here and see the other blogs on the top 10 lists and congratulations to them all.
So finally onto this week and our theme is
When Is A Card it A Card? When It’s A ……..
So our challenge is to create a card that doubles up as something else ie a gift voucher, money holder, that sort of thing.
Now you will notice when you get to the pics that somebody here has made a box. Yes peeps, somebody here did not read the challenge properly . And it wouldn't be so bad but that somebody was the one that does the challenge list and it was her idea. I’ll leave you to guess which plonker it was, but they should have gone to Specsavers!!!!
So if you want to make a box of a gift, then that will be fine as well.
Hugest of apols to my teamies - I do not know how they put up with my dippiness!!!!!
And speaking of teamies, I am ohhh so pleased to welcome back my fave mother and daughter duo, the fabulous Mary & Andrea who are of course …
And our prize this week is ….
…. a fab voucher for you to spend in the shop.
There’s so much eye candy there so it’s well worth a mooch and hugest of thanks to our girls for sponsoring us :)
So without further ado, let’s check out what the PTW crew did this week …...
Liz (GDT)
Carissa (GDT)
and finally (plonker alert) Dawny P
So that’s what we did and now it’s over to you, and if you get a sec, don’t forget if you get a sec to check out our individual blogs and see what else we have been up to.
As always, could we ask a huge favour peeps please.
Could you help to make our job at leaving comments easier by turning off comment verification and enabling comment moderation instead please pretty please xxxx. It’s ever so easy to do – see our sidebar – and you won’t get spam comments as you can easily reject the comments that you don't want to appear. And also, can we remind you nicely that’s it’s fine to combine challenges but please, no back linking. We hope you understand that it’s only fair to those who make a new card xxx
And also, can I just give you a nice gentle reminder to ask if you could make sure that you link your card and not your blog when using good old Mr Linky please my lovelies. It makes life so much easier for our DT if they don’t have to go searching for your cards.
Thanks ever so muchly – we really do appreciate it xxx
Also just to let you know that sometimes it is not possible for the Design Team to leave a comments on every entry, with these Blogger issues that some of us are having at the mo – grrrrrr what a nightmare. But please be assured that we do stop by and we are doing our best and every single eligible entry goes into the draw for our prizes even if we don’t manage to leave you a comment.
Thanks peeps for bearing with us and hugs from all of us to all of you xxx
