Hi everyone! Some fabulous scalloped and zig zag cards from you all last week! Thanks so much for joining us! This weeks challenge is one of Claudia's tutorials! It looks a little complicated at first glance but do have a try as once you start putting it together it's quite easy! The design team have come up with some fantastic idea's for your inspiration!
Claudia: Todays challenge for you is to create a big box out of 2 sheets of paper. Don't worry it is very easy. I will give you 2 scoring measurements to give you as much freedom as possible on what you can use this box. The first measurements are perfect for the small US size cards (you can use the box to add like 10 cards with envelopes as a present) the bigger size box is for the size cards i make my Magnolia cards. You can also use this box sort of as a nice decorated file folder box for your stamped images you got from friends.
It's all up to your imagination - think outside the box :-)
You will need:
2 sheets of 8.5 x 11 cardstock
Hint: 1 sheet will make half of the box (look at pic no 2 this will help)
Small version
Score Vertically at 4 3/4 (this devides the top of the box from the bottom)
Score Horizontally at 5 3/4 and at 9 1/2.
You are left with a 1 1/2 inch tab that you use to glue the two sheets togehter. You will need to cut the bottom corner off (see pic below for cutting)
Bigger version
Score Vertically at 6"
Score Horizontally at 6.5 / 10"
Hint: when you glue box together make sure that the tab is at the inside of your box and fold the smaller bottom parts first in and than the bigger one on top- this will give you a nice box on the outside.
Decorate your box.
This is how half of your box will look like. Now simply attach the other half of your box with double sided tape on the flap.
Enjoy!
As you can see, Mandy has made a lid for her box too! You can see how she did this on her blog!
